Rob Hughes has been a performing musician since the mid-sixties, playing guitar, bass, drums and harmonica in many different bands playing many different styles of music. Currently Rob is working with Rob Hughes and The Heaters, an eclectic quartet that plays blues, soul, rock and roll, honky tonk country, rockabilly and most anything else that fits. The Heaters are:Jamie Hopkins-bass, vocals/Don Mark-tenor sax, vocals and Rob on guitar, harmonica and vocals. Nelson Jervis, Rob Chirnside and Chris Banning share the drum chair.
Rob also performs acoustically as a solo or as a member of The Fabulous Clamtones and The Incontinentals.
The Heaters deliver a high energy, roots oriented show that is geared towards interacting with the audience and providing a positive musical experience. Rob and The Heaters have been performing throughout the mid-atlantic region since 1980 and have developed a large and loyal fan base.
Rob's acoustic shows offer a variation on the same format. Quieter but still energetic and diverse.
